Last stretch of the semester!

Hello all,

It’s finally come down to the last two weeks of school, God has gotten me through the semester successfully and I praise him for that. It’s all about papers, projects, tests, and the most dreadful finals! I just pray that God will keep his hand over me and help me though the next couple of weeks!

Its kind of sad though, you get so used to living here and being around your friends all the time. When you are here you can call a friend up and be like “hey let’s go eat” but not in two weeks. We will be moving back home and some are not returning. Although they may not be returning they will always be life long friends and people I keep near and dear to my heart. My mom always told me that the friends I meet in college would be life long friends, at first I was like no way how could I replace the friends I met in high school, and some how it happened. I have met some of my closest friends here and now that I have experienced the college life I know what my mom is talking about. I love each and every one of the friends God has given me, and cherish them like gifts from God! I am going to miss them and hate to say it but school in general but hey look what lies in the summer, SUMMER CAMP!!!

Mexico!!!

Hey all,

In the last blog I mentioned how I felt that God was calling me to go to Mexico. That call from God was turned into a yell when I got a check in the mail for the entire amount of the trip! This check came just when I was leaving my dorm to go tell the pastor who is leading this trip I wasn’t able to get any money so I would not be going on the trip. Crazy right? Not only have I paid for my trip in full but I was also able to pay for most of another trip. God has been working through each check and prayer I have been getting. I am really excited for this great oportunity, it is going to be a very moving trip, where I will be able to show Gods grace and love through my work. I would as that anyone who would like to help out with this trip just simply pray for me and the other students who are going on the trip. We would especially like prayer for healing in Mexico, with all the drug wars and things that are troubling the people down there we may not even be able to get into Mexico. All I would ask is that you pray that God would put us where he wants us!

Spring Break

Although I will be going home to help my mom recover from surgery, CCF will be taking a mission trip to New Orleans helping with hurricane relief! Another great thing God has put into my life is a mission trip after school to Mexico, if I can raise $500 I can go to Mexico. I will be sending out my share of support letters but if everyone on here could just pray for my trip and the preperations to go on this trip that would be great! Hope everyone has an awesome weekend and if you are on spring break an awesome spring break!

Weekend

This weekend I went home and found that God is putting a new challenge in my life, my mom has been very sick lately and found out that she had two masses on her ovaries. One of them bursted and caused an infection, the other is causing her a lot of pain! Dealing with that and midterms is very difficult but God keeps reminding me that he is with me through everything! Its finally Friday! My week was really good I want to thank God for that! He has given me the strength to get through the week! Merge was awesome this week the pastor talked about truth and John 14:6 “Jesus answered ‘I am the way the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’” This is an awesome verse and tests me personally every day! Man God has really touched me this week! 30 hours of No Food!

This past weekend CCF had what is called a 30 hour famine! It was crazy we didn’t eat for 30 hours to raise money and awareness for World Vision. This was a big challenge since I love to eat, so going 30 hours was very difficult. While we were doing the famine we learned a lot about World hunger for example a child dies every 7 second due to hunger related issues, crazy right! Also 13000 children die each year due to hunger related issues and if you give $1 a day you can feed a child for an entire year! This was such a big eye opener. It really makes me think about the children who will be going to bed hungry tonight. Although I still got juice and clean water the famine was supposed to make me understand how the children in 3 world countries are going to be each night, and most don’t even have clean water! Winter Retreat!

This past weekend CCF went on the winter retreat! It was an amazing experience. We learned about who we really thought God was. God really worked his magic through this weekend! He helped me through some rough things that I was personally going through and also reminded me I have some wonderful friends to help support me! The retreat was a way for us as college students to get off campus and just spend the weekend with God! It was an amazing experience and I can’t wait to go back next year!

Coming up in the next couple weeks! We have the 30 hour famine and also another drama team performance of our skits! Hope everyone is having a great week! God bless!

busy busy busy!

Sorry I haven’t blogged in a while but I have been so busy with school and Church. Since I’ve been on last God has done some awesome things in my life! The drama team went on a moving trip last weekend we went to a church in Layafette! This week durning our Thursday night worship I got to help lead worship and that was pretty awesome, to know that God is using my gifts to worship him! God is using my life in some powerful ways and I am just so excited to see how he will move me. This weekend coming up we have a winter retreat that I am wicked excited about! Love and God bless!

First Week Back

Its the first week back to school and I have already felt the presents of God here with me on campus. I started off the week with a worship team practice, I was just so excited to be worshiping the Lord and getting prepared for the Thursday night service! Then I had drama team meeting where we had some new students join, which was great seeing as we lost a couple from last semester! Later on this week there was thursday night worship! I got to sing and I just felt God while I was up there praising him, and what was even more amazing was looking into the crowd of college students and seeing them worship as well, it left me awe struck! God is definitely going to make this semester something special! Until next time… keep praying for Haiti!
